St. Monica’s Guild

Members of St. Monica’s reach out to Mediator members and others who are in need of prayer.  The group passes prayer requests to one another once notified of the request and stays confidential within the group.

Prayer Shawl Ministry

Creation of loving prayer shawls for people needing the warm arms of concern wrapped around them is the mission of the Mediator Prayer Shawl Ministry.  The Prayer Shawl Ministry members knit or crochet shawls that are given to persons who are ill, have suffered a loss, or are in the midst of a life crisis. The group currently meets at 6:00 on Monday evenings or on Wednesday at 12:45 at the church to work on shawls and pray for the recipients of their work. You can join our Prayer Shawl Ministry by getting involved in making shawls with us or by requesting a shawl for a friend or loved one you know that is in need.  If you wish to make a donation either for yarn or postage, we welcome your contribution.

Nourishment for Body and Soul

The Meals Ministry serves members and regular attenders of the church who need help in providing food for themselves and their families for a limited period of time. This includes people with new infants, people who are coping with a death in the family, and people who have been hospitalized due to illness.

Flower Delivery

Following the 10:30 Sunday Service, altar flowers are delivered to the sick and shut-in.

Hospital Visitation

The hospital ministry is a very active ministry at Mediator.  The goal is to visit all patients who are listed as Episcopalian, as well as non-Episcopalians as requested.   Our church community is represented in a very positive way by this very personal presence.

Funeral Guild

When a funeral is held for a member of Mediator, the funeral guild provides refreshments for a visitation and lunch for family members to express our love for the one who died and our support for the bereaved.

Columbarium

The name Columbarium is derived from the Latin Columba or "Dovecote", the dove being the symbol of God's spirit and peace. Today, many people are searching for an alternative to ground burial that offers beauty and simplicity. Cremation is one such alternative. Mediator’s columbarium is in the Memorial Garden and has been established for parishioners and their family members to provide for the reverent, Christian disposal of cremated remains in an atmosphere of holiness and beauty.

Memorial Acknowledgment

Memorial gifts are an excellent way to honor loved ones and to assist the work of the church.  Memorials are given to commemorate the death of loved ones in our midst.  The donor may request the money be used for a specific fund.  The typical funds which use these gifts are the Choir, Memorial Garden, Adine's Garden, Altar Fund, and the Memorial Fund.
